What happens to your files and data when you use ToolsBench.

Last updated October 15, 2026

This policy explains what happens to your files and data when you use ToolsBench. The short version: most tools do their work inside your browser, so your files are not sent to us. The exceptions are listed below.

Files and text you put into a tool

Most tools process files and text with your browser, on your own device. The file is read into the page, processed there, and the result is offered to you as a download. It is not uploaded to ToolsBench's servers, and we don't store it. Closing or reloading the page discards it.

Tools that contact an outside service

A few tools can only work by sending a request to another company's service:

  • IP Address Lookup asks ipapi.co for information about your connection. That service receives your IP address as part of the request.
  • YouTube Thumbnail Downloader loads thumbnail images from YouTube's image servers (img.youtube.com) for the video you enter.
  • Speech to Text uses your browser's built-in speech recognition. Some browsers, including Google Chrome, send the audio to their own servers to transcribe it. That is handled by your browser vendor under its own privacy policy.
  • PDF OCR downloads text-recognition language data the first time you use it. Your PDF is still processed on your device; only the download request leaves it.

These tools say so at the top of their page. Each outside service handles requests under its own privacy policy.

Accounts

There are no user accounts. You don't need to sign up or give us your name or email to use a tool.

What your browser stores

If you switch between light and dark mode, your choice is saved in your browser's local storage so the site remembers it. It never leaves your device, and you can clear it in your browser settings.

Advertising and cookies

ToolsBench doesn't currently show ads or set advertising cookies. If that changes, this section will describe the ad provider and how to control its cookies.

ToolsBench doesn't use analytics or tracking scripts of its own.

Server logs

Like any website, the server that delivers these pages may keep standard technical logs, such as IP address, browser type and the pages requested, to keep the site running and secure. These logs don't contain the files you process in the tools.

Changes to this policy

If the way ToolsBench handles data changes, this page will be updated and the date at the top will change. See also the Terms of Service.
