What Lorem Ipsum is and how this tool makes it
Lorem Ipsum is the traditional placeholder text of the design and publishing world. It looks like Latin, but it is scrambled filler rather than a meaningful passage, which is the point: readers focus on the layout, type, and spacing instead of the message.
This generator builds its text from a short list of Latin-style words such as "lorem", "dolor", "tempor", and "veniam". Each sentence is a random run of those words, between 6 and 15 words long, with the first letter capitalized and a period added at the end. Sentences are grouped into paragraphs, and paragraphs are separated by a blank line. The output is different each time you generate it, so it is random filler, not a fixed passage.
Why designers and developers use placeholder text
Real copy is often not ready when a page, template, or app screen is being built. Placeholder text lets you check line lengths, paragraph spacing, font choices, and how a design behaves with long or short content. It also helps in testing, for example when you need a block of text to see how a text field truncates or how a card layout wraps.

How to generate Lorem Ipsum with this tool
- Set Paragraphs. The field is set up for 1 to 20 and starts at 3.
- Set Sentences per paragraph. The field is set up for 1 to 15 and starts at 5.
- Leave Start with classic opening ticked to begin the text with the familiar "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet" sentence, or untick it for fully random text.

Details and limits worth knowing
The classic opening is added as an extra sentence at the start of the first paragraph, so that paragraph is one sentence longer than the number you chose. The other paragraphs match your setting.
There is no option to generate by word count or character count, only by paragraphs and sentences per paragraph. Sentence length varies at random, so total length varies a little from one generation to the next. If you need a specific length, adjust the numbers and check the total with the Character Counter.
Because each sentence is random, repeated words and odd rhythm are normal. The result is not an excerpt of any real text. Generation happens entirely in your browser, and nothing is sent to a server.
