Guide

What can you do when organizing a PDF?

Organizing a PDF means adjusting its pages without recreating the document. In this tool you work from a grid of thumbnails, one per page, and apply two kinds of change: marking pages for removal and rotating pages that are the wrong way up.

When you save, the tool assembles a new PDF from the pages you kept, with the rotations you chose applied. The pages are copied into the new file rather than flattened into images, so text remains selectable.

Why use a combined page view

Real documents often have more than one problem at once. A scan might include a blank page and two sideways pages. Fixing that with separate tools means downloading and reloading the file several times. Here you handle both issues in one pass, then save once.

If you only need one kind of change, there are simpler pages: Delete Pages for removal and Rotate PDF for rotation. To combine several documents before tidying them, start with Merge PDF.

How to organize a PDF with this tool

  1. Drag a PDF onto the upload area, or click to select it.
  2. Wait for the page thumbnails to appear. Each is labeled with its page number.
  3. To remove a page, click the trash icon at its top right. The page fades out, and clicking again restores it.
  4. To rotate a page, click the rotate icon at its bottom right. Each click turns the page 90 degrees, shown in the preview.
  5. Click Save changes to build the new PDF.
  6. Click Download. The file is saved as organize.pdf.

All of this runs in your browser, so the document is not sent to any server.

Limits and tips

Despite the name, this page does not let you drag pages into a new order. Pages stay in their original sequence, and you can only remove or rotate them. If you need a different order, one workaround is to split the pages into separate files and combine them again in the order you want.

The tool expects a valid PDF that is not password-protected. If it cannot read the file, a message appears and no pages are shown.

The thumbnails are small previews, and rotation is shown on the preview image only until you save. After saving, open the downloaded file and check each page before discarding the original. Rename organize.pdf straight away so later downloads do not get mixed up.

Long documents take longer to load because every page preview has to be rendered first.

Frequently asked questions

Can I reorder pages with this tool?

No. You can remove and rotate pages, but the page order stays as it was in the original file. Splitting and merging can be used to build a different order.

Is my PDF uploaded to a server?

No. The page previews and the new file are both created in your browser, so the document stays on your device.

Does saving turn my pages into images?

No. Pages are copied into the new PDF, so text in them remains text and can still be selected and searched.

What happens to the original file?

Nothing. The tool produces a separate new PDF for you to download, and the original is not modified.
